Dr Wang's Biography

From Darkness to Sight shares the remarkable life journey of Dr. Ming Wang, a world-renowned laser eye surgeon and philanthropist. It is an inspirational story of how one man turned fear, poverty, persecution, and prejudice into healing and love for others.

I was a little nervous upon the day of my surgery.  Vision is one of our most important things in the world after all.  I know a few members of my family and my wife that had received Lasik.  I decided to put a stop to my glasses wearing days!  The staff at WVI were friendly and very professional.  From the time I walked in the door, I was treated with the utmost care and respect.  The staff was knowledgeable in every aspect.  After finding out I was a candidate, I was ready for the surgery.  I think the surgery over all took roughly 10-15 minutes.  Everything went so quick and Dr. Wang and his staff were with me every step of the way to go through it.  I have to admit, I thought it would be more stressful.  There was no pain, nothing bad at all.  Right after I finished, I could tell my vision had vastly improved.  After resting just one day, I have 20/20 vision and 20/30 vision in my eyes!   Waking up in the morning, I was awaking to a new world.  Thanks to Dr. Wang and his staff for giving me a new life and the sight I always wanted back!  They truly are a one of a kind staff!
