A native of Louisiana, Dr. George completed his undergraduate degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. He attended medical school and obtained a medical doctorate degree in New Orleans Louisiana, training through his clinical years during the days of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans, LA. He spent an additional year in New Orleans after Medical School to complete an internship in Internal Medicine, specifically to help the citizens of the city that were still trying to rebuild. He then completed a three year residency concentrating on Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville before joining the Wang Vision Institute in Nashville, TN, where he currently serves as a Fellow of Corneal and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. George takes an interest in the pre/post operative management of surgical patients, and performs cataract, LASIK, and PRK surgeries among many others. He assists with topography consultations for other laser centers around the country and interprets retinal image studies for primary care centers. He is involved in many research projects, including the investigation of corneal cross-linking, and treatments for presbyopia.
